Addiction is rarely contained to the person who has it. These posts are written for the mother who has stopped answering the phone at night, the wife deciding whether to let him back in, the brother who has heard it before.
Fern House sponsors a free Al-Anon meeting on campus every Saturday at noon, open to residents’ relatives and to anyone in the community who needs it. Visiting hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 2:00 to 5:00 pm. Both exist for the same reason: recovery holds better when the people around it understand what is being asked of him, and what is not their job to carry.
